PTFE gland packing, also known as Teflon gland packing, is a flexible, square braid of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filaments or exfoliated graphite acrylic fiber that is used to seal pumps and valves. It is commonly used in a variety of industries, including chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum refining, and food processing.

The longevity of PTFE gland packing depends on the media and application. For example, a gland seal on a valve stuffing box will last longer than a seal on a rotary pump.
